As a natural health practitioner of Systematic Kinesiology my goal is to educate and empower clients. By uncovering what is blocking their natural health, I help them return to boundless energy, a peaceful night’s sleep, and becoming pain free. We have all seen the video of the Chewbacca mask and if you’re anything like me you laughed out loud.  Candace Payne has managed through social media to give us all a glimpse of how ‘simple joy’ doesn’t have to cost a lot of money and it can be the small things that can make an impact in someone’s life.  She has now over 817,000 followers on her profile and since her spontaneous and authentic video, she been on TV networks all over the US.  What is lovely is that her smile and laugh have stayed the same.

She made an instant connection with so many people through her authentic self, joy and happiness. She has managed to make so many people smile in one week, and since!  It made me start to think about what we do here at KinesiologyZone.

And in one sense we are doing the same, helping people to smile, find their joy, passion and contribute in a big way.  While maybe not on a worldwide scale (yet!) it is our mission to reach more people and show them that life doesn’t have to be hard, fearful, or stressful.  With more training courses than ever happening around Ireland and a record number of students joining us this year we are helping more and more people to experience the wonderful holistic approach of Systematic Kinesiology. Candace helped us to remember to be ourselves, connect with others and the simple joy that can be found in a moment.

Do you want to improve the quality of your life? Almost everyone you know suffers from one or more of the following conditions.

  • Aches and pains, allergies, backache, colds, low energy, fears, indigestion, joint pain, migraines.

Many people are struggling and while none of these in themselves is necessarily life threatening, they are life depleting.  I’m in Istanbul, Turkey this week, and it’s the same here too.  Yesterday I demonstrated a muscle test or two on the b-fit staff who I’m visiting with. They suffer stress as part of their lifestyle, busy city, traffic can be a nightmare, and of course there’s a lot of worry too from the recent attacks. B-fit is also wants to help their customer improve the quality of their lives.

The more I travel and share our health approach with other cultures, it confirms my belief that everyone has the same needs when it comes to health.

So while there may indeed be cultural differences in terms of lifestyle, our bodies work all the same way.  There’s a science to health and energy that is the same the world over.  There are habits we must follow if we want to have high energy and live at our best.

Systematic Kinesiology offers a way to uncover what is blocking access to that high energy.

It is like when you come to another country we don’t understand the language.  If you don’t know how the body works, you won’t understand its language.  It is all learnable though.  You see muscle testing is a type of language that enables the practitioner to interpret what it needs, as well as what it doesn’t, and even the cause of some of the symptoms you might be having.

Well apart from enjoying this beautiful city and meeting lots of wonderful people, I’m here because KinesiologyZone has at its core higher purpose now, a drive and a commitment.  Our mission is to share Systematic Kinesiology as a powerful healthcare solution around the world.  Last year I was in India to share Systematic Kinesiology and I met Bedriye there when she attended one of my presentations – she’s the owner of b-fit.  Most of us will do more for others than we’ll do for ourselves.  And she’s on a mission to help empower women in Turkey through fitness, creating centres where support and social go hand in hand, as well as empowerment though fitness. It’s a big mission and for the past 10 years her office has now 20 staff members supporting over 200 fitness centres, and 50,000 customers around Turkey.  She’s making a real difference to woman’s culture here.

I’m here because I too want to help women and families feel empowered when it comes to health and wellness.  Of course we work with men too, and in reality, the majority of our students are women.  Those who are drawn to help themselves and others have such an influence on family and the health of the wider community.  Not everyone gets fit with health in mind. And those who work out regularly can often have low energy, aches and pains, be prone to injuries etc.  And since we live in a time when if we don’t look after our health today, it’ll be more expensive than ever to fix in the future.  So the need is even greater now than ever before.

I’m here to do an overview of the training that we offer, and while holistic therapies are not very common here in Turkey, my hope is that they’ll see how alternative health can be a valid and safe approach to improving their quality of life in a significant and meaningful way.

Everyone benefits and will be happier and more fulfilled.

I think trying to change things outside is why we end up beating ourselves up, because it’s not the outcomes we have to change – it’s the inside stuff. Beliefs, values, raising standards, and creating a vision for your life.  When it comes to planning for success we put things in our way that we really need to let go of.  Sometimes it’s just thinking, sure I’ll wait until I’ve more time, or when I feel “ready”.  Truth is, those are just fears, that are really illusions or distractions.  I’ve got so much more done this year, simply by recognising what is a distraction in my life.  I know I’m a recovering procrastinator, and by no means perfect! Perfection is a low standard to aspire too anyway, since there is always something more!

We’ve just a few days left of this year and while the temptation is let them slide …. it is also a great time of year to reflect on the year gone by and decide what’s going to be different next year. Our happiness is determined by the emotions we are feeling moment by moment.  So how was 2015 for you?

Of course for many others it was far from all those, and I know there have been years like that for me too.

For us, 2015 has been a huge year of change for TASK Ireland and KinesiologyZone.

On the surface it may not be visible – though we moved the office into a a “proper” several room office, out of my home and hired a new full time member of staff.  Also invited 8 new trainees to learn how to teach our Balanced Health Course in many more venues around the country. So yes quite a few changes that are visible.  Those changes though have been badly needed for many years, but it was the internal changes that had to happen first.

I’ve found over the years, that making decisions about daily habits and rituals is more important than the outcome we desire – the outcome is “lose 25lbs”, “get fit”, “change jobs” will take care of themselves.  Our lives are determined by the moment by moment decisions we make.

So if you’ve been thinking about a change of career, have a love of people and helping them, and know deep down you’ve wanted to contribute in a bigger way, then the Balanced Health Course is a great place to start.  If you want this time next year to be different, then today is the day to start planning for success.  Turn your “I can’ts” into small steps, not massive goals.  I’ve learned to let go of doubt, worries and comparisons because those things just get in the way!  They are distractions.

Problem solving with Systematic Kinesiology

Systematic Kinesiology is one of the fastest growing fields in natural health therapies. Not only is its approach holistic, its ability to be tailored to each individual client means it’s ultra specific.  It’s dynamic, responsive, immediate, and an accurate way to interpret what the body is saying.

The body has many ways to give us signals about our health – pain, discomfort, thirst, loss of function, rashes, swelling, tiredness, and many more. These signals don’t manifest by themselves, they are the result of a process.

If you have a health issue, let’s take as an example, a headache. If I asked what the problem was you’d likely say, “I suffer from headaches”.

So the problem is the headache, right? But is it really the problem? Or is it actually the symptom (or a result) of a process. This is an important distinction. Because if we make the mistake of identifying the problem as being the headache, then we could simply take a pain killer, and the problem is solved, right?. But is it?

When you take a pain killer, it may well get rid of the symptom.  In the short term that’s not a problem. We’ve all wanted to get rid of a pain and used something fast and effective to do that.  But the ingested drug doesn’t just go to the area of pain, it is distributed systemically, and can have side effects. Ignoring or covering up signals that the body is making long term, taking too much of a drug, can negatively affect other organs, such as the liver or the stomach.

A more powerful approach is to seek to prevent the headache from ever starting in the first place. For that we must dig deeper and ask the question “Why am I having headaches? Seek to understand why”.  Some causes are obvious, but what if it’s coming from something we’re totally unaware of?  By looking underneath the symptom, understanding that it’s the result of a process (daily habits, choices, decisions), we can then expand our options to be able to explore, identify and focus on what the real problem is.  Such as for example, a regular food we eat.  Systematic Kinesiology uses muscle testing to identify what’s beneficial to your body and what’s not.

Health care is in crisis.  There are LOTS of problems – Obesity is the problem, Cancer is the problem, Heart Disease is the problem, Diabetes is the problem. And by continuing to focus on the disease as being “the problem” we will never, ever make progress. Because disease is the problem that ISN’T.

The problems are more likely to be found coming from a person’s lifestyle. It’s so often not even noticeable. But waht we do on a consistent daily basis has an accumulative effect. That’s both a good and a bad thing.  Overdo it for while and it has a way of eventually catching up on us!  Start looking after ourselves and it’ll pay off. The results, whether they be ones we want or don’t want, come from of the daily decisions and moment by moment choices we make about what to eat, how to move and what to focus on.  These actions, more than anything, will determines how I, you, we predominantly feel each day.  How motivated, how happy, how good we feel.

In the majority of cases “Health problems = lifestyle problems”. There are always exceptions of course.  But by looking for clues in the things we do every day, often without thinking because they are habits, we open ourselves to finding solutions in there.  Obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes are all preventable diseases.  Each year more than 10 million people worldwide are diagnosed to cancer.  We know that we should be eating more vegetables and taking more exercise.  Those two things alone will go a long way to preventing something that a lot of people fear they’ll get (because of their genes – which only accounts for 5-10% of all cancer cases), but genes are not our fate. *

However, people are struggling, are stressed and overwhelmed with modern day living. We’re being influenced and marketed to with lots of different, confusing messages, surrounded by fears, stress, “noise” and distractions, that we’re often so exhausted it seems easier to take the easier choice.  But if we can take a moment to reflect on where we’re at, get the help of a Systematic Kinesiology professional who has another perspective.

It is said that to truly heal, the patient must have faith, confidence and belief in both the practitioner and in the modality/therapy. For healing to take place, the practitioner is a vital part of the process. It’s a case of, you can’t do it alone. Instinctively we have a sense when something is wrong. But it can seem confusing because of the often conflicting messages about what’s healthy and what’s not.

But your body holds the key to its own health, to optimal health. What Systematic Kinesiology offers is a powerful tool to finding the root causes, and unlocking the answers to what the body needs to create the right environment to self-heal.  The body already knows how to heal – if you cut yourself you don’t have to instruct the body to go fix it.  It knows.

So I’ll say it again – Systematic Kinesiology helps identify the problem that IS.

What it takes to make it

The importance of our health, in terms of high physical energy as well as emotional maturity, is second to none.  Without health we have nothing.  The decisions you make every day about what to eat, what to believe and how you feel about health are either making you feel good, empowered and strong OR quite the opposite.  And all that will determine what you do each day, the actions you take and ultimately the results you get in all areas of your life.

Would you agree that if you feel tired and stressed you make unhealthy decisions? You go to the supermarket and grab the first thing you see, you don’t care if it’s healthy, the only criteria becomes, is it tasty and will it fill me, because you’re tired and you want to treat yourself?  You might just take an evening off in front of the TV rather than go for that walk you know would have energised you?  And then you look back and wonder what you’ve done that day!

Yet when you feel good you make much better decisions.  You feel self-motivated, ooze vitality and have more drive.  Life is good!  You see, how we are feeling emotionally makes a huge difference to the quality of our lives.  And that is detemined by what we choose to focus on (again a decision) and the actions you take.  One situation, two different viewpoints.  Which one will you focus on?

People often ask me, “how are you so positive?”  Yet I know that’s not always the case.  We all have certain emotions that we feel more comfortable feeling.  For example, I’ll bet you know someone who flies off the handle at the slightest thing; they like finding ways to be angry.  Other people are worriers.  They only seem happy when they’ve something to be worried about.  We all do things for a reason, and for me, if I’m feeling less than positive, a bit low, it’s usually right after a period of high activity, lots of teaching, conferences, training etc.  But by reconnecting with what I love, by shifting my focus, it helps me to understand me.  On one hand I recognise it’s meeting my need for a rest which I’ll take, but I also recognise that time waits for no one and I decide to change focus, and take an action towards what I love to do – my drive comes from helping others and training people who are influencing others in health. And if you’re a mum you’re leading your child and family’s health. We all have the same resources inside of us, but some we aren’t using.

I want to challenge you to step up to become a health leader.  In times of crisis we need leaders, and there’s a health crisis at the moment. Put aside all your excuses, reasons and even other commitments, and do whatever you can to join us on a foundation course. By caring and taking action, you’ll lead the way to better health in your family, your town and your world.

Even though I’ve been teaching Systematic Kinesiology for the past 17 years, a leader knows the learning never stops. I continue to invest in my own learning and attend lots of courses myself.  I’m always growing to become more, and love sharing what I’ve learned with my students.  This past year I’ve found myself in San Francisco, London (twice), Portugal, Belfast, Dublin, New York and New Jersey – (I find getting away often helps in gaining a new perspective) all to learning more, to push myself, and discover new insights around what makes the difference.

Some decisions we make are day to day, and others will shape your destiny.  Ultimately they’re all important.  But if you’re waiting till there’s nothing in your way, maybe you’re just afraid of success, or failure, or change.  Don’t be afraid of making decisions!

In know, it’s only April, but if you are looking to join our Diploma course in 2014 then there is no time to waste!  We have two start dates to the Diploma this year – March 2014 and July 2014.  You can start the professional training when you have completed the Balanced Health  Course.  Look at what our current students are already able to do!

And the mother told me that there was no problem the next morning with her going to school!  So wonderful.  During the training, each week the students post their accountability on what they’ve done to help their family, friends and clients (if they are already trained in another therapy).  Every week we have more and more examples of how the students are really embracing Systematic Kinesiology, especially while they do the online part of the course.

So is this FOR YOU too?

At the moment, we’re just collecting names (and locations) of those who are very keen to start their trainingthis year. This is not for you if you’re not ready to act now, not passionate about helping others, or not willing to travel.  We don’t know yet where this Last Chance Catch Up Course will take place or when, but it’ll be very soon – Late April/Early May.

Whether you already work as a complementary therapist or have a strong desire to train as one, this course is for you! 

The idea is that you will start with a live workshop (usually 2 days), but for this course it will be a 3 day training.   The Online Course usually takes place over 8 weeks, but we will cover some of that on the 3rd day of training so that you can complete the course and be ready for the 2nd live weekend.  You then will complete the course with your choice of 2nd weekend in Kilkenny, Athlone, Kanturk or Bray on 7-8 June or 14-15 June, meaning you will finish together with our other students, who you’ll meet “virtually” in our very active Facebook Group and on our monthly Q&A calls.
